about

Lead single, ‘Too Many’, is a bittersweet reflection on the bustle and cynicism of contemporary life, and the damaging paths we follow to try and escape it. A roots song at heart, ‘Too Many’ delivers a catchy pop atmosphere while remaining raw and unapologetic.
‘Too Many’ is Tullara’s debut single from her upcoming EP, recorded late 2015 at Sunshine Recorder Studios Port Melbourne, VIC, Australia with premier female producer and international touring artist Aurora Jane.
’Too Many’ is a song that explores the complex yet simple nature of emotions and relationships. Though she sings of emptiness, there is still hope at the heart of the track, mirrored in the accompanying music video filmed by Benjamin Fraser. ‘Too Many’ is a powerful and profound introduction to a new facet of one of the country’s most remarkable rising talents.

lyrics

TOO MANY

Calluses upon my worn out fingertips. They bruise and peel 'most everyday, but that doesn't stop me from picking away at this broken banjo.
Who am I to question your said alibi, as if I thought you'd lie to me. But no fool would trust in your honesty.
And I take for granted

Happiness is one step up from loneliness, and that's two steps far from emptiness, which is all I take from happiness.
But I'm trying to get away from this.

But there's too many drugs and not enough time to think.
There's too many ways to mix my favourite drink.
There's so many things to see but not enough energy.
There's too many people and not enough space for me. Not enough space for me. Not enough space for me.

So it goes, this creeping feeling in my bones. Well I try and try to understand, but no medicine will be my friend.
And I take for granted that

Happiness is one step up from loneliness, and that's two steps far from emptiness, which is all I take from happiness.
But I'm trying to get away from this.

But there's too many drugs and not enough time to think.
There's too many ways to mix my favourite drink.
There's so many things to see but not enough energy.
There's too many people and not enough space for me. Not enough space for me. Not enough space for me.
